My 13-year-old son homeschools, so having a rink in our backyard means he can skate as much as the weather permits. The flexibility has been incredible — he’s able to get meaningful ice time during the day and spend his free time outside instead of indoors.
We liked that YardRink would work with us to find the right custom size. We also wanted something that would be easy to set up, take down, and store, and YardRink checked all those boxes as the other kits were pricier, too big, and seemed difficult to assemble.
I did a lot of research before deciding what to buy. I looked at used options and different kits, but the YardRink design stood out. Having the tarp on the outside made a lot of sense to me, and it felt like something that would actually hold up over time.
Growing up in Canada, hockey was a big part of my life. I spent time skating at a young age on a rink in our family’s garden. Fast forward a few decades, and I wanted to give my four-year-old son an introduction to hockey in a fun, backyard environment.
